Seasonal Thoughts

A general statement to meditate on during this season

December 12, 2023

1. The heart is deceptive: how we feel about something should not control what we do.

2. We are called to humble ourselves and lift up our Savior, not the other way around.

3. If we are not demonstrating Torah all year long, we have no business pointing fingers at others during the appointed times.

If we wait until a holiday to shake our finger at everyone, we're not giving people a chance to learn and grow. Puffing ourselves up because we 'keep the feasts' is not good. It may 'feel' right, it may 'feel' good, but if we don't live Torah in front of others the rest of the year, we have no business pointing fingers now. The only person it elevates is ourselves, and this is NOT who we should be lifting up.
